aboutMe
About Me
Saira Webster MBACP is a registered counsellor with many years’ counselling experience. Hello-counselling offer an integrative approach drawing from Person Centred and Psychodynamic perspectives and from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
I worked in the financial sector for many years and have experienced the day-to-day stress, pressure and anxiety of the corporate world. At MIND, the Women’s Refuge and at the Lucy Rayner Foundation and in private practice, I have helped children, young people and adults who are dealing with life’s challenges, abuse, domestic violence, isolation and depression.
People suffering in silence can find themselves isolated or unheard, even shamed. In these situations, it can be a struggle to reach out for help or find out what is available.
People seek counselling for many different reasons; to understand life-changing experiences, to come to terms with physical illnesses, traumas or chronic diagnoses, relationship difficulties, divorce, bereavement or simply to find a space to talk and to understand themselves.
I am mindful of cultural family pressures and expectations and of the struggles people who come from oppressed backgrounds face. I like to see people finding their real selves again, following their dreams, feeling empowered, regaining lost confidence and striving to reach their potential.

Creating a safe space for children is at the heart of nurturing their emotional wellbeing. Safeguarding is not just about protection—it’s about recognising their needs, listening without judgment, and responding with care.

🌸Children and Loss

Loss can be deeply confusing and overwhelming for children. Whether it’s the death of a loved one, a family separation, or another significant change, children often express grief in ways that are easily misunderstood.

🌸Working Creatively

Whether it’s through drawing, storytelling, or sensory play, creative approaches help children and young people feel safe and understood. These methods can unlock emotions that may be difficult to articulate, building trust and emotional resilience along the way.

🌸Working with Boundaries

When boundaries are approached with empathy, they become tools for connection—not separation. They offer clarity to families and offer children the structure they need to grow with confidence and security.
